WHAT THE RIVER BROUGHT

My state is one of the most violent in the country with twice as many femicides as in Mexico City. Water is the essence and univocal foundation of life on this planet; It permeates, transmutes, creates, but also erodes and destroys, whether in excess or in absence, this essential element is to be feared and respected. That is why the reason for the “corruption” series, the name is not born of chance and plays a linguistic game both to refer to the condition of the element, and to how it is detrimental. Likewise, it speaks of a strong parallel with abuse in general, which naturally includes gender violence, graphically represented in the images. 

These works do talk about water pollution, but they also serve as a reminder that systematic abuse leads to a single, ominous fate.
